Warmer than the beaches of the Costa Del Sol!

Withernsea and District Lions Club‟s Boxing Day Dip was the most successful ever with 54 dippers entering the cool North Sea! After last year‟s temperatures of 12 degrees and having to cancel until New Year‟s Day this year it was a balmy 13 degrees!
Boxing Day dipThe Dip has helped to raise money for many local charities including RNLI, Fire-fighter‟s Charity, Marie Curie, Withernsea and District Lions Club and HM Coastguard as all dippers choose their own charity making a small donation to Withernsea Lions Club.
One of the dippers was Lion John Sheard who only joined the Club in December, perhaps not quite what he expected but he couldn‟t have picked a better year to do the dip.
Boxing Day dipA warm drink awaited the dippers as they came out of the sea and there was a super atmosphere with many onlookers on the promenade. The safety of the dippers was ensured by the assistance of Withernsea inshore lifeboat crew and the local Coastguard.
